Additional Driver Policy

Additional driver CHF 10.00 per driver, per day – same minimum age policy as for renters. A maximum of 3 additional drivers is permitted.

Age Requirements

Minimum rental age 25 years for car groups  FA – FDAR, GR – PDAR, HR – LDAR, J4 – FFMR, S – FVMR, SA - FVAR.

Young Drivers between 21 and 24 years of age can only rent the following vehicles: A = MBMN, B = ECMN, C = CDMR,

D = IDMR, E = SDMR, CA = CDAR, DA = IDAR, EA = SDAR, CE = CWMR, DE = IWMR, and EE = SWMR.

Young Drivers surcharge - CHF 18.00 per day. There is no maximum age policy.

Condition of Vehicle

Vehicle must be returned, normal wear & tear expected, in the same condition as when rented. If special cleaning is required a separate charge will be made directly to the customer

Cross Border Policy

Vehicles are NOT permitted to be driven into: Albania, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, Serbia and Montenegro , Latvia, Poland, Romania, Macedonia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Turkey & Ukraine.

Licence Requirements

Drivers must be in possession of a valid drivers licence held for at least 1 year. An International Drivers licence is not required.

One Way Rentals

Domestic & International one-way rentals are available from Geneva and Zurich to all European locations that are part of the IOWP (International One -way Programme). Domestic one-ways are free of charge and do not have to be pre-booked.

All vehicles can be used for domestic one-ways.

Out of Hours Policy

All out of hours reservations are on a request basis only at a charge of CHF 30.00 for pick up between 23:30  – 24:00 and CHF 60.00 for pick up after 24:00.

Payment Policy

All major Credit cards - Visa, Diners, MasterCard, Amex. Cash rentals are NOT allowed. Travellers Cheques and Eurocheques are NOT accepted.

Two credit cards are required for the vehicle groups GR - PDAR & HR - LDAR. A deposit of CHF 10,000.00 is held on the credit card when either these two vehicle groups is rented.

Refuelling Policy

The Car is supplied with a full tank, return with a full tank, or refuelling charges will apply. Pre-paid fuel option is also available

Roadside Assistance

BREAKDOWNS: Phone numbers will be supplied on the rental agreement at the time of check out. A replacement vehicle will be supplied if necessary.

ACCIDENTS: 1) Customers must call the police. 2) Fill in the blue European Accident report. 3) Call the nearest National/Alamo rental location. A replacement vehicle will be supplied if necessary.

Special Equipment

Child/Infant seat    CSI = CHF 50.00 per rental +TAX - deposit CHF 150.00

Baby seat              CST= CHF 50.00 per rental day + TAX - deposit CHF 150.00

Ski rack                 SKR= CHF 50.00 per rental + TAX - no deposit required

Winter equipment  WIN = CHF 8.00 + TAX per day, mandatory for all rentals between 01 November and 15^th April inclusive (see surcharges). This includes winter tires, snow chains, ice scrapper.   

All special equipment is ON 24 HRS REQUEST only.  All special equipment is available for one ways

Mobile telephones are not available

Surcharges

Airport surcharge is CHF 19% plus tax on all charges except fuel.

Vehicle Licence fee/road tax is CHF 4.50 per day plus tax.

Winter fee = (WIEV) CHF 8.00 per day plus tax - MANDATORY for all rentals from November 1st until April 15th (see Winter Equipped Vehicle in Special Equipment).

Environmental Fee = CHF 7.50 per rental plus tax

Customers arriving without a copy of their voucher (does not include voucherless accounts) = CHF 20.00 per request

Tax

Insurances and waivers:

CDW – Collision Damage Waiver

Reduces the renters financial responsibility to between CHF 1000.00 and CHF 1500.00

Third Party Liability

Third Party Cover is included.

Mastercover PLUS

Includes CDW, Mastercover,  PAI, Theft Protection reducing the deductible amounts of CDW & Theft Protection to CHF 0.00

Mastercover

May be purchased in addition to CDW to reduce the deductible amounts to CHF 0.00

TP – Theft Protection

Reduces the renters responsibility for loss/damage to the car by or following theft /attempted theft, to between CHF 1000.00 and CHF 1500.00
