Additional Driver Policy

The price per additional driver will be Euro 5.50 + VAT Per day, with a maximum of Euro 44.00 + VAT. Maximum 3 additional drivers. See Age Requirements for restrictions on car groups.

Age Requirements

Minimum rental age is 21years for car groups A=EBMR, B=EDMR,C=CCMR, D=CDMR,  G=IWMR & H=FDMR. Minimum rental is 23 for car group F=IDMR, Minimum rental age is 25 years for car group J=PDMR

For all other car groups the minimum age is 23 years. There is no  maximum age. There is no young drivers surcharge

All drivers must have held their full licence for a minimum of two (2) years

Condition of Vehicle

Vehicle must be returned, normal wear & tear expected, in the same condition as when rented. If special cleaning is required a separate charge will be made directly to the customer

Cross Border Policy

Vehicles are permitted to be driven into Portugal & Andorra (no outside Spain insurance required). Vehicles are also permitted to be driven into Austria, Germany, Belgium, France, Netherlands, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco & Switzerland but "OUTSIDE SPAIN INSURANCE" must be purchased & costs are as follows: 1-10 days Euro 29.00 + VAT. 11-29 days Euro 55.00 + VAT. 30 days+ Euro 85.00 + VAT, this is purchased at the counter. Cars cannot be taken into Morocco, Eastern Europe & UK.

Licence Requirements

Non-Roman script licences must have an International licence & their licence from country of domicile. All drivers must have held their full  licence for a minimum of two (2) years. National & Alamo Atesa or the  Spanish police force could request the International Driving Licence (plus  the driving licence from the country of domicile) if the customer is coming from countries outside EU and the driving licence is not written in  Spanish.               

One Way Rentals

Domestic one ways are available for cities located within the Spanish Peninsular and intra Islands (same island).  Not allowed between Islands and Mainland (and vice versa) or among Islands.

For the Canary Islands one ways are allowed as follows: 

Between San Sebastian, valle Gran Rey and Aeropuerto De La Gomera. 

Between Tenerife Jet Foil, Playa De Santiago, Puerto De La Cruz, Aeropuerto De La Rodeos, Aeropuerto Reina Sofia and Los Christianos. 

Between Caleta De Fuste, Corralejo I, Corralejo II, Jandia and Aeropuerto de Fuerteventura.

Between Aeropuerto de la Palma and La Palma Port.

Between Las Palmas D/T, Playa del Ingles, Las Palmas Airport and Las Palmas.  Between Lanzarote airport, Arrecife-Cabrera Medina, Costa Teguise, Puerto del Carmen, Playa Blanca and Playa Blanca Jet Foil

For the Balearics:  Domestic one ways are only allowed between Palma DT (PMIC01) and Palma Airport (PMIT01/PMIT71) 

One ways are also allowed between Costa del Sol and Costa de la Luz (and vice versa) and between Sunbelt and mainland locations (and vice versa).  One ways are not allowed from Costa del Sol or Costa de la Luz to Mainland or Sunbelt offices (and vice versa)

Out of Hours Policy

An additional charge of Euro 38 + vat applies for out of hours. After hours are on request only

Payment Policy

All major Credit cards (VISA, AMEX, Master Card), Travellers Cheques and Eurocheques are not accepted. Cash rentals are not allowed. An international valid credit card is required and a deposit on the credit card will be held. If cards do not permit deposits, then charges will have to be made. A credit card is always required for deposits. The deposit will be the estimated rental fees which is held on the credit card until the car is returned. See Refuelling Policy for Fuel Deposits.

Refuelling Policy

Car is supplied with a full tank, return full or cost will be Euros 11.25 plus VAT plus the price of missing fuel. For Costa del Sol and Costa de la Luz locations only (service provided by Niza Rent a Car), the policy is as follows: The vehicle will be given with a full tank and it´s necessary to return the car empty. Different petrol deposits are requested depending on the car group (from EUR 40 to EUR 65). No petrol refunds are given. For the Balearic Islands only (service provided by Hiper Rent a Car), the policy is as follows: A charge of between EUR 46 and EUR 100 (depending on the car group) will be held on the customer's credit card. Different petrol deposits are requested depending on where the client is returning the vehicle. No petrol refunds are made at the airport, where clients are kindly asked to return the tank as empty as possible. For Hotel/Office drop-offs, clients are kindly asked to return the tank full in order to get the whole deposit back. CICAR will often not supply the car with a full tank and expects the customer to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel.

Special Equipment

Infant seat (CSI) Up to 13 Kg = Eur 5.50 per day plus tax, maximum of Euro 44.00.

Child/Toddler seat (CST) 15 Kg to 36 Kg = Euro 5.50 per day plus tax, maximum of Euro 44.00.

Booster Seat (BST) From approx 4 Years old = Euro 5.50 per day plus tax, maximum of Euro 44.00.

Ski Rack (SKV) = Euro 46.00 per rental plus tax.

Luggage rack (LUG) = Euro 46.00 per rental plus tax.

Snow chains (SNO) = Euro 46.00 per rental plus tax.

All CSI, CST and BST equipments are on Freesale with 24 hours advance notice required. All other equipments are On Request with 24 hours advance notice required. We provide one fluorescent jacket per rental as the law requires, non returned jackets are charged at 8.00 Euro. Children under 3 years must use a restraint system adapted to their weight and size. For Children up 3 years old, whose height is less than 150cm, it is mandatory for the use of restraint system adapted to their weight and size or, at least the use of a seatbelt.

Insurances & Waivers

CDW – Collision Damage Waiver

Reduces the renters financial responsibility to the sum of the deductible

Third Party Liability

Third Party Cover is included in all rates

Super Damage Waiver

Super Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Protection.  This insurance covers the deductible on CDW to zero in case of theft of the vehicle or collision. Not applicable when due to the driver's negligence. Prices are as follows:

TP – Theft Protection

Reduces the renters responsibility for loss/damage to the car by or following theft /attempted theft, to the sum of the deductible
