Additional Driver Policy

Additional driver fee is 10 Euro per rental (exc VAT)

Age Requirements

Minimum rental age is 21 years. There is a Young drivers fee of 20 Euro per rental (exc VAT ) for under  25 years old drivers There maximum age is 80.

Condition of Vehicle

Vehicle must be returned, normal wear & tear expected, in the same condition as when rented. If special cleaning is required a separate charge will be made directly to the customer

Cross Border Policy

Cross border travel is permitted into Western European countries ON REQUEST.  Cars can't be driven into Albania, Andorra, Bulgaria, Belarus, Croatia, Czech Republic, Bosnia - Herzegovina, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia & Montenegro, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine, Russia, African Countries. Crossing the Finnish border with the rented car is prohibited without written permission by the car hire. The car hire decides granting of the permission case by case basis at it's own discretion.

Licence Requirements

The Driver must have held a current driving licence for at least 1 year

One Way Rentals

Domestic One Ways are available for all car groups. No Drop off charge between a)Helsinki - area locations ( Locations with HEL code) between locations in the same city in the rest of Finland.  The drop-off charges for one way rentals between any other rental locations are 85 Euro for all car groups.  Minimum length of rental is 2 days.

Out of Hours Policy

Out Of Hours charge is 28 EUR

Payment Policy

All major credit cards are acceptable. i.e. VI, DN, MC, AX, Eurocard, National Charge cards and National vouchers are acceptable. Travellers Cheques and Eurocheques are NOT accepted. No cash rentals.

A credit card is always required for deposits. A deposit will be held on the credit card until the vehicle is returned. For credit card payments - 15% of the amount of the rental or 200 Euro.  If CDW is declined - 15% of the amount of the rental or 2000 Euro.

Refuelling Policy

Cars should be returned with a full tank of petrol. Refuelling is a charge of 5 Euro.

Fuel purchase options: Diesel 0.90 Euro per Litre

                                : Bensin 1.23 Euro per Litre (Charges can be changed without notice)

Roadside Assistance

In case of accident or breakdown, contact National Scandia Rent 24h Emergency telephone number +358-(0)9-3747 7420.  (Service in English, Swedish, Finnish)

However, without informing the car hire the renter is entitled to have car repaired for a maximum value of 50 euros, provided it is necessary for continued driving. In such cases the renter shall acquire a receipt and report from the repair company detailing the performed repair actions and the payment. The costs of the repair will be refunded to the customer.

A replacment car will provided if necessary depending on availability.

  Navigation Equipment  NVS= 8.20 Euro daily with a maximum of 100 Euro plus tax, On Request 48 Hours Advance notice (For all car groups except    MBMN)                          

The winter equipment is available from: October till: May.  All ordinary cars in Finland are winter equipped.

Surcharges

Airport Surcharge: 20 Euro for the following Airports: Helsinki-Vantaa, Ivalo, and Kittila.  All other Airports have a 10 Euro surcharge (plus VAT).

Arctic Surcharge: 40 Euro / Rental plus VAT for Ivalo Airport and Kittila Airport.

Tax

Value Added Tax (VAT) : 22%

Insurances & Waivers:

DW1 -

Reduces the amount of  the renters damage responsibility  to the sum of the deductible .

Third Party Liability

Third Party Cover is at  least 1 million EURs
