A young drivers surcharge applies as follows: 21-22 years GBP 14.00 per day plus VAT, 23-24 years GBP 7.00 per day plus VAT. There is no maximum charge. There is no upper age limit except at Pembroke, and Carmarthen where the age limit is 75 years. Plymouth, Exeter, Newquay Taunton, Southport, Wigan, Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich the upper age limit is 70 years. |

Vehicles may be taken abroad at a charge of GBP 18.00 per day plus VAT (This charge does not apply to vehicles going to the Republic of Ireland.). Renters will additionally be required to purchase breakdown cover at a cost of GBP 50.00 including VAT. Written permission is required to take any vehicle outside of the UK. This should be obtained from the renting branch at commencement of rental. Countries which you are allowed to travel to are: All EU countries, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Gibraltar, Andorra, and San Marino. Cars may not be driven into any outside those listed above. |

Licence Requirements |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
Visitors to the UK: All visitors to the UK must present a full valid license. Licences issued overseas must be clearly identifiable as a driving licence, otherwise an International Driving Licence will be required. A passport must also be produced if not a UK resident.
UK Residents: Holders of the UK photo card license must also present the paper counterpart at start of rental. Endorsements are only shown on the paper counterpart so customers MUST produce both documents. Holders of the old style UK paper license must also produce photo ID at the start of rental in the form of a Full Valid Passport, Armed Forces ID Card or a Police Warrant Card. No other form of photo ID is acceptable.
*UK residents that hold a non-EU licence may drive in the UK for up to 12 months from the time you become resident. After 12 months your overseas licence will be deemed illegal in the UK and it must be exchanged for the UK equivalent. UK residents that hold a non-UK EU licence, your License is valid until the age of 70 or for 3 years after becoming a UK resident whichever is longest. A renter holding a non-UK EU licence must produce a full valid passport at time of rental. Holders of any licence that does not show the current address must also produce proof of current address in the form of a Current Credit Finance Agreement, Current Utilities Bill, or Current Bank Statement.

One Way Rentals |

One way rentals are permitted within Mainland UK but are subject to a drop charge of GBP35.00 One- ways between Mainland U.K. and Northern Ireland are not permitted. One-ways are not permitted between the Mainland UK and the Republic of Ireland. One-way rentals are permitted from any Northern Ireland location to the following locations in the Republic of Ireland:- Dublin Airport, Dublin City, Cork Airport, Cork City, Galway Airport, Knock Airport, Shannon Airport, Sligo Airport.

Out of Hours Policy |

All reservations for Out of Hours pick up are on request and only available at In-terminal airport locations at a charge of GBP 30.00 plus VAT. There is no facility for Out of Hours pick up at downtown locations, who will only accept bookings for pick up during office working hours. The same restrictions do not apply for Out of Hours Returns, which are permitted at the locations listed below in Appendix 5. Where a vehicle is returned outside office hours the customer should confirm at pick up the procedure for returning the vehicle out of hours and the location of the key return box. All customers must be advised that they remain liable for vehicle damage until the vehicle is checked in on the next working day. |

Payment Policy |

All major Credit and Debit cards (Including Maestro Debit cards), Cash and Cheques (with a valid Cheque Guarantee Card) are accepted locally as methods of payment. Cheques are acceptable in GBP sterling only. UK residents that wish to pay a Cash deposit will be subject to credit check by Equifax and will need to produce additional ID as per APPENDIX 3. The Equifax office is only open Mon Fri 07.30 21.00, Sat 08.00 16.00 and Sunday 10.00 14.00 (Sunday Airports only). Payment by Cash and Maestro Debit Card are not permitted outside of these times. Inbound renters will need to produce their passport, dated return flight ticket and some other proof of their home address if paying by cash.
Cash renters cannot expect to receive a refund of their deposits in cash. The refund will take the form of a Sterling cheque, which will be posted to their home address.
PLEASE NOTE: Renters will be asked to pay locally for the following deposits: 1) The fuel prepayment GBP 70.00) The DLW deductible/excess GBP 500.00 Please ensure you have sufficient funds available to cover the cost of the rental and deposits. There are optional products available to purchase locally at the start of the rental that can reduce the amount of your damage excess deposit. Coverage is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Dependent on the circumstances, we reserve the right not to replace the vehicle. |

Child/Infant seat (suitable for ages 9 months to 4 years old) are available for a charge of GBP 20.00 plus VAT per seat, per rental. The child seat is the Britax Freeway child seat, it is forward facing and approved to British Standards. A security deposit of GBP 50.00 is required for each seat, which will be refunded to the renter upon return of the child- check-in. Child seats are on request only and availability cannot be guaranteed. Customers will be required to fit the child seat themselves. |

Vehicle Licence fee (RTF) £1.22 per day plus VAT. Congestion Charge is applicable in Central London, The charge is payable daily Monday to Friday for each day that a vehicle moves within the zone. No charge is payable for vehicles if they are parked for a full day(s) within the zone. The daily charge is GBP 8.00 if paid by midnight on the day of travel and is payable either by phone, on the Internet or at selected retail outlets within the zone. The charge is GBP 10.00 if paid by midnight on the following charging day (next day payment only available online or by phone). There is a fixed penalty system that will issue fines of GBP 100.00 per day for non-payment. Marble Arch and London Bayswater are the only Alamo locations that fall into the Central London zone. If the customer picks up a car from Marble Arch between Monday to Friday (07.00-18.00) inclusive, Alamo will offer to add the first day's Congestion Charge fee to the rental agreement for their convenience. The customer will then be responsible for paying the daily charge for all subsequent days (Saturday, Sunday and public holidays are exempt). For a customer picking up a car from Marble Arch on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday no Congestion Charge fee will be added to the rental agreement for that first day. They will then be responsible for paying the fee for all subsequent chargeable days (excluding Saturday, Sunday and public holidays). From 1st July 07 a smoking ban will apply to all vehicles in the National/Alamo fleet. From this date customers will not be permitted to smoke in any National/Alamo vehicle. Fail to adhere to acknowledge the no smoking signs placed in the vehicles could be subject to a £50.00 fixed penalty notice. |

Damage Liability Waiver (DLW): Damage Liability Waiver limits the customers financial responsibility for losses or damage to the vehicle.
Third Party Insurance (TPI): Third Party Insurance is compulsory under UK law and is included in your rental charge. Our Third Party Insurance insures against unlimited liability for death or bodily injury, and for damage to other peoples property up to a limit of GBP 25m.
Theft Liability Waiver (TLW): If purchased TLW will reduce liability in the event of theft of the vehicle from the full value of the vehicle down to the amount shown in the grid below. (overseas inbound only). Price of TLW is GBP 6.50 per day, inclusive of Tax @ 17.5%. NOTE: PURCHASE OF TLW DOES NOT WAIVE THE DAMAGE EXCESS.
*Windscreen and Tyres (WTW): If purchased reduces excess for any damage to Windscreen (and any other window glass) or Tyres to zero. Price of WTW is GBP 3.00 per day, Inclusive of Tax @ 17.5%.
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI): If purchased provides coverage for baggage and personal effects, medical expenses, personal accidents and emergency travel. Price GBP 5.95 per day, inclusive of Tax @ 17.5%.
*Mastercover (MC): If purchased reduces customers financial responsibility for losses or damage to sum of the deductible:
*Mastercover Plus (MCP): If purchased reduces customers financial responsibility for losses or damage to the vehicle to zero. Mastercover Plus also includes Windscreen and Tyres insurance, Theft Waiver and Personal Accident Insurance.

APPENDIX 1 Meet and Greet
Meet & Greet Locations A Meet and Greet service is available to customers who may be flying into Regional Airports where we do not have facilities. Where this is the case a local downtown branch can service your reservation and meet you at the airport with your vehicle.This service is on request and the charges for this service are shown below:

Returning Vehicle/Parking Charges at regional airports If you wish to return your vehicle to one of the above locations at the end of your rental you MUST inform the branch so that they can collect your vehicle. When returning a vehicle to a regional airport the procedures relevant to your return location should be followed at all times. Collection charges will apply when leaving a vehicle for collection at one of the above locations. The customer is also liable for any parking charges as outlined below.
Inverness Airport Return the vehicle to Car Park 2 situated at the end of the Terminal. Car park ticket and keys should be handed to Airport staff at Information Desk. Failure to leave car park ticket will incur GBP 15.00 charge. Collection fee of GBP 10.00 plus VAT applies.
Leeds / Bradford Airport - All customers returning vehicles to the airport must park in the Short Stay Car Park. Please leave parking ticket in the glove box and deposit keys in the National Return Key Box, which is situated in the Arrivals Lounge. If this procedure is not adhered to, a charge of £90 will be raised to the customer. Parking charges for Leeds / Bradford are as follows: Vehicles returned within office hours are subject to a £5.00 parking fee if left at the Short Stay Car Park, outside of office hours this rises to £15.00 (please note, failure to leave the parking ticket in the vehicle will incur a charge of £90.00). If the vehicle is left at the Long Stay Car Park, there will be charge of £50 applied.
London City Airport - When picking up the car from the Europcar desk please speak to the Europcar agent about the return procedure.
Any car, which is left at the airport, occurs an immediate charge of £12 for parking. If we are not made aware that the car is there this charge can be a considerably more. It is not down to the airport to inform us please let us know as soon as the car is there to stop any further charges.

APPENDIX 2- Maastercover Plus, Mastercover and Windscreen and Tyre under 25
Mastercover Plus, Mastercover and windscreen and Tyre may not be purchased to waive the excess where the renter or any additional driver is aged between 21 years and 25 years at the Locations shown.

APPENDIX 5 Out of Hours Returns
Out of hours returns are permitted at these locations. Where a vehicle is returned outside office hours the customer should confirm at pick up the procedure for returning the vehicle out of hours and the location of the key return box. All customers must be advised that they remain liable for vehicle damage until the vehicle is checked in on the next working day.
When returning OOH to Marble Arch the following procedure and charges apply.
Opening hours are as follows:-
Monday Friday 8am 6pm Saturday & Sunday 8am 1pm Opening hours may differ on Bank Holidays.
If you wish to return your hire car outside these office hours, please read the instructions below. Customers are reminded that they are responsible for any loss or damage to the vehicle whilst parked until the branch next opens.
Park on Ramp - Free of charge. Please park the vehicle on the ramp taking care to ensure that the rear tyres are not over the yellow line as this is classed as the pavement and the vehicle WILL receive a parking fine, do not take a chance, especially on Monday mornings. Any parking fines incurred will be the responsibility of the customer until the branch next opens. Please place the vehicle key in the Rental Envelope provided and post through the letterbox.
Park in NCP Car Park Charges apply. If there is no space left on the ramp, please park the vehicle in the upstairs car park. Please do not forget to place the NCP ticket and vehicle key in the Rental Envelope provided and indicate which floor the vehicle is parked on. Please post the Rental Envelope through the letterbox. The customer will be charged at the below rates from the time of return until the branch next opens. 0-6 hours in the NCP £4 per hour 6 hours + in the NCP £3 per hour
Please note that lost NCP tickets are able to be traced by registration and will attract an administration fee of £5.
